Is artificial intelligence really about to surpass humans?

Is The Matrix going into reality?

Rome was not built in a day, and AI did not "leave" mankind behind just when it was invented.

When the world's first robot was born in 1959, its appearance was a "mechanical arm"; this was also the world's first real practical industrial robot.

It looks like a bunch of "electronic parts", far from the current "humanoid" robots. People at this time did not expect that robots would one day defeat humans.

In 1997, the artificial intelligence "Deep Blue" defeated the world number one Kasparov in chess;

This competition between robots and humans has caused an uproar all over the world. Everyone believes that this heralds: a new era in which machines control humans are coming.

Since the 21st century, the topic of "artificial intelligence (AI)" has attracted much attention. After all, if this artificial intelligence develops well, it can assist humans, but if it develops too well, it will directly surpass humans.

Everyone's expectations came out in 2017. AlphaGo defeated Ke Jie, the world's No. 1 world chess champion, by 3:0. It can be said that this game also extinguished the enthusiasm of many chess players, including Ke Jie himself.

In the same year, the Alpha Go team announced that AlphaGo would no longer participate in the Go game because it would "imbalance" certain areas of humans.

By 2021, there will be robot "waiters" everywhere in hotels, skilled voice navigation, the daily calling of "Little Love Classmates", etc. People have long been familiar with the phenomenon of AI joining human life.

Today, the convenience of AI has penetrated into human daily life.

On October 23, 2021, the world's first surreal humanoid robot artist Ai-Da exhibited in Cairo, Egypt.

The performance content includes: Ai-Da uses its own algorithm to create works of art, including painting, creating poems on site, imitating human behavior, language, etc.

The research team also indicated that the purpose of developing Ai-Da is to understand how much AI can "imitate" humans, and what it can bring to people.

It is not difficult to see that people always want to know where the limits of AI are, just like human beings have been exploring where the limits of "knowledge" are. Compared to the competition, Fox sisters feel that humans and AI are more like a kind of "complementary" companionship and growth.

So AI is not harmful to human society at all?

AI: Naive.

CNN reported on November 29, 2021, that American scientists discovered that Xenobots 3.0, known as the world's first living robot, can reproduce itself.

Although this advanced robot is currently within the controllable range of human beings, on this basis, we can easily imagine what level of artificial intelligence this will push artificial intelligence to with the further development of science and technology. Artificial intelligence (AI) is indeed one of the greatest threats to mankind.

Subsequently, according to Gartner's forecast on November 30, 2021, the total global artificial intelligence (AI) software revenue in 2022 is expected to reach 62.5 billion US dollars.

If enterprises and institutions use artificial intelligence to integrate into enterprise standard operating procedures, artificial intelligence will replace the jobs of many workers, and it will be more difficult for workers to find employment in the future.

However, on November 25, 2021, UNESCO held a press conference in Paris to introduce the formal adoption of the first global agreement on artificial intelligence ethics.

This proposal, based on international law, aims to focus on human dignity, human rights, gender equality, etc. and is intended to guide the development of artificial intelligence technology in a responsible direction.

Perhaps the development of artificial intelligence will be better solved, and the ultimate destination of artificial intelligence is to serve humanity.

Perhaps the "The Matrix" drama will not be staged in reality.

But letting AI serve mankind will not hinder the development of AI. It does not mean that we can slack off the pace of "seeking knowledge". The future of mankind needs to be mastered by ourselves, and AI can only be an auxiliary.

For everyone, these events are a "crisis letter" written by AI.
